Statins for children with sickle cell - what next
Printer FriendlyTell a Friend
For those who've been following my ramblings over the past couple of years you'll be unsurprised with what follows. I am enjoying numerous posts on internet sites all over the world suggesting that Statins are really the answer to bacterial infections in children with sickle cell. I speculate how many have actually studied the document they were quoting from. This paper centres around using statins as anti-inflammatorys. They look as if suppress the cytokine reaction and the net final result is that fewer bacteria end up in the blood system and a lower likelihood of death in mice.

Now I applaud the lateral thinking of those that came up with the exploration nevertheless my pattern is always to 'swim against the current' - I started by thinking about our own knowledge about sickle cell and huntingtons and the results we've noticed (not scientific research but steady outcomes centered upon experience). A sugar referred to as Trehalose has intrigued us for several years and if you do some online detective work about it's action with regards to inflammation (just google trehalose inflammation and notice what comes up). Mycose interrupts the cytokine response extremely early and offers a incredibly effective anti-inflammatory effect.

Now my small mind is thinking why health research is focussing on the worshipped statins - (they also want to give them to youngsters now) and not on Mycose - it may be the advantageous benefits of Mycose match or surpass the features of statins for these types of children with sickle cell. The massive advantages with trehalose is that there are zero unwanted effects - only positive aspects. Trehalose doesn't make money for the drug businesses - elevated uses for statins would help make massive profits for these predatory giants.

I would propose that prior to trying Statins you check out something that is healthy and safe and oftentimes just as succesful - perhaps far better.
